Susan Lee Wilson

Susan Lee (Stevens) Wilson, of Benton, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at the age of 70.

Susan was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Paragould to the late Leroy and Scottie Stevens.

She attended Benton High School and was a proud graduate of Arkansas State University, where she met and married the love of her life, John Mark Wilson. They were happily married for almost 51 years.

Susan began her teaching career at Angie Grant Elementary in Benton, where she taught for over 20 years. She then spent the next several years as a Math specialist for the Bryant School system. Prior to retirement, Susan developed and monitored standardized testing in Math at the Learning Institute in Hot Springs for the State of Arkansas.

Susan was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton where she served faithfully. She loved to read her Bible, pray for and with others, spending time with family and friends, and always displayed a kind and gentle spirit. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first.

She is survived by her husband, John Mark Wilson; a son, Aaron Wilson (Suzanne) of Cary, N.C.; twin daughters, Christie Pinney (Dr. Ted) and Julie Bittle, both of Benton; and six grandchildren, Chelsea and Bryce Wilson, Tyler and Tatum Pinney, Jackson and Molly Bittle.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, with the funeral service immediately following at Ashby’s Funeral Home, located at 108 West Narroway St. in Benton.

The graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery.
