Jared Mitchell Swaim

Jared Mitchell Swaim, age 39, of Benton, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at his home.

He graduated from Benton High School and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he received a degree in Psychology. He was particularly keen on assisting those with developmental disabilities and had a heart for those who struggled mentally and emotionally.

Jared was a believer in Jesus Christ and became a follower of Christ during his teen years. While his own life and faith journey was not a smooth path, often fraught with his own mental and emotional struggles, it was marked by blessings in his graduation from John 316 Ministry, Complete in Christ Recovery Ministry and Victory Temple. When Jared was at his best, he translated his passion for psychology and faith into advice and counsel for those he cared for most.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather,

John Mitchell.

Jared was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his parents, Freddy and Paula Swaim; his grandparents, Fred and Edith Swaim and Jessie Mitchell; aunts and uncles Cindy and Donnie Beaty and

Karen and David Yarberry; nieces Haley (Michael) Kostellaz and Rochelle Calhoun; and nephews Justin (Rosa) Calhoun and Reid Yarberry.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Jared be made to the faith-based recovery ministries of Northside Church of Christ, 917 North East Street, Benton, AR 72015.
