Sharon Extension Homemakers Club

met November 17 at the Saline County Fairgrounds.

In attendance were 14 members. Hostesses for the month were Ora Lee Yates and Marylyn Rowland.

The meeting was opened by members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Patsy Wagner, President, conducted the business session.

Thought for the month: a daughter is a girl who eventually grows up to be her mom’s best friend.” Lisa Mitchell presented the devotional titled “Thankful. I am so Blessed.” Bible verses referenced were Psalms 103:2, II Thessalonians 5:18,

Ephesians 1:3 and Deuteronomy.

Roll call was answered by members telling their favorite meal growing up. The program for the month was “holiday crafts/decorations. Several Christmas crafts and ideas were displayed by Patsy Wagner and Beverly Garrett.

Volunteer hours totaled 265. Twenty members from Saline County attended the District Rally which met October 25 at Sharon Baptist Church. Seven members from Sharon Club attended the Council meeting which took place October 27 at the Saline County Fairgrounds.

The Saline County Homemakers Club held their annual Bazaar

November 18-19 at the Saline County Fairgrounds.

Members are asked to bring bingo items at the December meeting for Four Seasons Residential Care. Plans were made for the annual Christmas party which will take place December 15 at the home of Sylvia Nalley. Members wishing to participate are to bring three wrapped bingo prizes and a $10 gift to exchange. Eye openers were presented by the following members: Karen Mitchell, four red and black bowl cozies, Beverly Garrett, a Santa made on a grater, felt ornaments, a sign “Wish you a Merry Christmas,” Hershey kisses enclosed in a little sack; Patsy Wagner, Santa made on a grater, a decorated charter plate, Angel made on a necktie, snowman made with bulky yarn, a tree using a witches hat form and covered with bulky yarn, decorated cocktail glass turned upside down with a Santa tucked inside, wooden plaque saying “Believe”; Sylvia Nalley, quilts.

The meeting was adjourned.

Ann Butler led the noon day grace. A potluck luncheon was served followed by a game of bingo.

The next meeting will take place December 15 at the home of Sylvia Nalley, 6902 Highway 5, Benton. Hostesses will be Lucille Bagley and Ora Lee Yates.
